In the labyrinth of life, the thread traces the path back to our essence.

THREADS OF MEMORY

"Threads of Memory" reflects on the paths we trace and the invisible bonds that connect us to our roots and experiences. Inspired by the myth of Ariadne's thread, the work of Juan Carlos Rivero-Cintra explores how life's labyrinths, filled with challenges, become spaces for discovery and reflection, leaving traces that guide us back to our origin, whether physical or spiritual.

The figure of the Minotaur, subtly present in this exhibition, is an essential part of the myth of Ariadne's thread. This creature, trapped in its labyrinth, symbolizes the challenges and conflicts we face, both internal and external. In the context of Rivero-Cintra's work, the Minotaur relates to the struggle for freedom and identity, especially in environments marked by oppression and the complexities of power dynamics.

Through organic elements such as garlic, eggplants, and asparagus—symbols of the richness of Latin America—the artist weaves metaphors filled with nostalgia, belonging, and memory. These poetic images invite us to reflect on identity, explore new paths within our own labyrinths, and recognize the ties that connect us to our history and our humanity.
