STILL LIVES
Recent Works by Carlos Alarcón

This collection of forms contains the essence of an intense observer, that same intention we all possess when we like something without reason, without haste.

It's a personal tribute to still lives as a genre of enduring expression, as a remembrance of the finite, of the beauty we possess but cannot contain, of life in all its forms and patterns, of the volatile relationship with the surroundings and the created objects.

It is a personal journey of decades seeking and enjoying the fleeting, the observable to the naked eye, in a dimension of common artifacts that take on an intimate meaning from the universality of their use and, in this case, from the detailed representation of their image that reminds us how impermanent we all are.

NATURALEZAS MUERTAS
